Santa Rosa School, Managua

The Santa Rosa Fund was first set up in 1988 as a twinning link between Southway School (now closed) in Plymouth UK and the Santa Rosa School in the Barrio Santa Rosa of Managua, the capital city of Nicaragua. Since 1994 the Fund has been a registered charity based in Tavistock, Devon – registered charity number 1028085.

How does the money raised reach the Santa Rosa School?

René Zamora is the Fund’s representative in Managua. Money to purchase materials for the school is either taken out to René by supporters or trustees of the Fund travelling at their own expense, or is transferred by international money order. Once a month René contacts the school, determines their requirements, makes the necessary purchases and delivers the goods.
